About the firm

A quarter century of putting substance ahead of appearances

Sibley Financial Group has advised families and business owners across Louisiana and the Gulf South since 2000 — through two market crashes, a pandemic, and every tax law in between.

Our story

Founded on a principle, not a product

Sibley Financial Group opened its doors in 2000 with a straightforward conviction: retirement advice should be judged by whether it works, not by how impressive it sounds.

That conviction came from watching the alternative. Too many people arrive at retirement holding a collection of financial products that were each sold well and none of which were chosen to work together — a policy here, an account there, no plan connecting them, and no honest answer to the only question that matters: will this last?

We built the firm to answer that question first and recommend second. Today, from our base in Mandeville, we serve families, retirees, pre-retirees and business owners throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South, in partnership with Allied Elite Financial.

  • Established 2000 — twenty-five years of continuous practice.
  • Based in Mandeville, Louisiana — serving the Northshore, greater New Orleans and the Gulf South.
  • Powered by Allied Elite Financial — the resources of a national platform, delivered locally.
  • Specialists, not generalists — retirement income, safe growth and wealth preservation.
  • Families and business owners — from first retirement plan to multigenerational legacy.

“Esse Quam Videri”

The motto on our crest — to be, rather than to seem — is also the state motto of North Carolina and a line borrowed from Cicero. We chose it because it describes the only kind of financial advice worth paying for.

Meet the advisor

C. Troy Sibley

President and founder of Sibley Financial Group, powered by Allied Elite Financial.

Troy Sibley has spent twenty-five years in financial services, the last of them at the head of the firm he founded in 2000. His practice is concentrated where he believes an advisor earns their keep: safe growth tied to the market, retirement and estate planning, and the preservation of wealth that took a lifetime to accumulate.

His career began early and moved quickly — he was named the youngest district manager for Union National, a Kemper company — and the pattern of recognition continued as he built his own practice. He has been honoured as a Top Advisor and Regional Agent of the Year by Transamerica Life and by Lincoln Heritage Life, and in May 2025 he was inducted into the Marquis Who’s Who network of Emerging Leaders.

Troy studied at Great Lakes Christian College and maintains his industry standing through organisations including the National Association for Fixed Annuities. He works from Mandeville, Louisiana, where he is known less for the accolades than for answering his own phone.

The team

Robert Sibley

Retirement Income Planning Specialist.

Robert has spent twenty years in financial services, across mortgage, lending and insurance, and the last fifteen of them leading teams of financial professionals. He holds active licences in seven states, which gives him a wider view of how protection strategies differ from one jurisdiction to the next than most advisors working a single market.

His work centres on the same ground this firm was built on: turning savings into income a household can count on, protecting principal from market downturns, and structuring what is left so it passes cleanly to the next generation.

He is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and he puts client education before everything else — on the view that someone who genuinely understands how their plan works makes better decisions than someone who has simply been persuaded. His standard, in his own words, is to always do exactly what is right for the client.

Away from the office he has been married twenty-two years and has two sons, eighteen and fourteen. He has played competitive golf for two decades, cooks seriously enough that friends angle for invitations, and takes the family to the coast whenever the calendar allows.

What we stand for

Four commitments behind every recommendation

Substance over appearance

Our motto is the standard we are held to. If a recommendation only looks good on a brochure, it does not leave this office.

Independence

We are not captive to a single carrier or a house product. The strategy is chosen for the client, not for the shelf it came from.

Protect first, then grow

Income you depend on should not be exposed to a market you cannot control. We secure the floor before we discuss the ceiling.

Plain speaking

No jargon, no pressure, and a straight answer when the honest answer is that you should leave things exactly as they are.

Who we serve

Louisiana families, and the people who built something here

Our clients are rarely looking for the cleverest strategy. They are looking for certainty about the things they cannot afford to get wrong.

  • Retirees who need a paycheck that arrives whatever the market does.
  • Pre-retirees five to ten years out, deciding when they can safely stop working.
  • Business owners converting a company into personal retirement security.
  • Career professionals with 401(k) and IRA balances that need a strategy, not just a statement.
  • Families protecting a surviving spouse and passing a legacy cleanly to the next generation.
